Display tab

On this tab, you specify how:

By adjusting the parameters on this tab, N4 and XPS display a block so that it closely matches the planner's mental view of the yard. The best way to work with these parameters is to experiment with different values until the yard view display meets your needs.

The information specified on the Display tab only affects the visual display of the block.

Table: Display tab fields and descriptions

Field

Description

Compress Scan

Select this check box to align the rows in the stack and display a single column label area in the yard view window. Otherwise, N4 labels each row and causes the window to be larger.

Use this setting if your columns are not labeled consistently.

Direction

Select the direction that the block points as the internal row numbers (Row Idx) increase for non-straddle blocks. For straddle blocks, select the direction that the block points as the internal column numbers increase.

This field does not set the default door direction for the block. It defines the direction that the block points. You set the default door direction for each section relative to the direction of the block (same, opposite, etc.) in the Yard Sections form (on page 1).

Rotate 90

Select this check box to display rows vertically instead of horizontally.

You can view the effect using the Preview Yard Block option (on page 1) in N4 and in the block scan view in XPS.

Sort by Logical Cords

Select this check box to sort list views in XPS by logical value, such as 1, instead of text value, such as Z.

Invert Scan X

Select this check box to display block row numbering in descending order for block scan view in XPS.

Invert Scan Y

Select this check box to display block column numbering right to left for block scan view in XPS.

Stack Length in Pixels

Specify the length of a slot, in pixels, as it appears in the Yard Block window.

If you leave this field blank, N4 applies a default value of 20 (or 28 for blocks coded for straddle carriers).

Stack Width in Pixels

Specify the width of a slot, in pixels, as it appears in the Yard Block window.

If you leave this field blank, N4 applies a default value of 9 (or 13 for blocks coded for straddle carriers).

Pixels Between

Specify the number of pixels you want to display between the rows. This setting is most commonly used for straddle blocks.

If you leave this field blank, N4 applies a default value of 0 (or 5 for blocks coded for straddle carriers).
